History

The Pacific Child and Family Enrichment Society was formed by a group of child care specialists who worked together formally and informally over a period of 15 years. In 1989 they formed a not for profit society that sponsors programs to provide support to parents and caregivers.

We believe that children are the future; and that child care lasts a lifetime.

Pacific Child and Family Enrichment Society believes the community has a responsibility to provide the best possible support to families. Families need access to information, resources, child care referrals, growth/bonding experiences, and a supportive network in order to improve and maintain a healthy family life.

The mission of the Pacific Child and Family Enrichment Society
is to develop programs and foster community partnerships
that provide a range of services to individuals of all cultures.

We are a diverse, community minded organization that provides
education, information and support to assist individuals in making wise care choices and in achieving healthy lifestyles.

Our Goals

• to promote optimum quality child care by recruiting reliable, well trained caregivers for the children in our region, to supplement and complement parental and family care
• to encourage child care providers to undertake a program of self directed professional development
• to educate and assist parents in making wise child care choices
• to assist parents in finding the type of quality child care that meets the needs of their families
• to promote and facilitate the development of a wide variety of community child care services in our region

• facilitate the development of caregiver networks for advocacy, encouragement and mutual support
• promote and facilitate the educational and professional development of community caregivers
