Mission Statement

The 0-6 Network provides a forum for families, childcare providers and service providers to share information, raise awareness of issues and promote a healthy community for families and children 0-6 in Nanaimo and area .

Purpose

The purpose of the 0-6 Network is to:

  • Share information
  • Promote and support efficient use of resources by working collaboratively with and referring to existing agencies.
  • Refer identified issues that require community action to the Greater Nanaimo Early Years Partnership.

Terms of Reference

  • Membership is open
  • Meetings hosted four times a year
  • Meetings rotated at various member locations
  • PacificCARE will maintain and update the Network contact list and the 0-6 Website
  • Chair and recorder may rotate and will be determined at the previous meeting
  • Recorder to send minutes to the contact personfor distribution to all members within 2 weeks of the meeting being held.
  • Chair to call for agenda items 2 weeks prior to meeting date and send out agenda one week prior to the meeting.
  • Working committees will be formed as necessary by the Network and will report back to the Network
  • A representative from the Greater Nanaimo Early Years Partnership will be invited to attend the 0-6 Network meetings for communication purposes
  • Decisions will be made by consensus
  • A ½ hour will be scheduled for networking at the meetings
  • The Terms of Reference will be reviewed and adopted annually.
